0:00In nature, animals have the instinct to stop moving when they're hurt to allow themselves to heal.
0:12With humans, we seem to do the opposite.
0:18We paint over our problems with a busy schedule, assuming that things will get better with time.
0:29Today, as you meditate, allow yourself to rest and to heal from the inside out.
0:43Okay, let's begin by consciously relaxing the body.
0:51And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.
1:01As your body begins to settle, take a moment to consider this verse: Be still and know that I am God.
1:24And again, be still and know that I am God.
1:42Now, let's take some nice deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.
2:02Just noticing and observing the breath, watching the rise and the fall of the chest.
2:22Listen to the gentle sound of your breathing.
2:34Begin to notice any feelings you may have brought with you today.
2:48Thoughts are a natural part of meditation.
2:56Just leave those feelings right where they are and then gently come back to the feeling of the breath.
3:16Long, deep inhale, then a slow controlled exhale.
3:32Allow the breath to calm the mind and relax the body.
3:50And now, allow your awareness to fall and move inward, finding that place where you feel loved.
4:09Feel that natural peace in God's presence.
4:22Remember, when you come near to God, He will come near to you.
4:46Bring your attention to any motions you're carrying with you.
5:02Not engaging with your feelings, just noticing them.
5:18Almost like you're observing your emotions and then letting them go.
5:28Just like loosening your grip, you're letting go of those feelings.
5:58Let God handle whatever is out of your control.
6:14This is a place of acceptance and safety.
6:22You can always find rest in God.
6:38Now, begin to notice how your body feels.
6:49When it feels comfortable, begin to consciously relax the body.
7:08Scanning down from your head to your toes, release any areas of tension in the body.
7:28Surrender all of your stress and all of your responsibilities, and just let your mind rest.
7:53You are safe.
7:56God is looking out for you.
8:12Take this verse with you, "Be still, and know that I am God." When you feel ready, slowly bring your awareness back to the breath and allow your eyes to
8:44open.
8:46Take a few deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.
8:56Notice how you feel.
9:01I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:05We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
