0:00Learning to pause is not easy.

0:04Life has a way of pushing its agenda on our daily lives.

0:09Our minds are always telling us that there's another thing that has to be done.

0:15But if you look back at your life, those things usually don't matter.

0:21Unplug from the addiction of the immediate, and plug into the peace of the eternal.

0:31Okay.

0:33Let's begin by taking a few seconds to consciously relax the body.

0:44And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.

0:54Now, take a moment to consider this verse: "Be still and know that I am God." And again, "Be still and know that I am God." With an easy awareness,

1:37bring your attention to the space in the room.

1:48Just noticing the space with an easy curiosity.

2:00Notice your place in the room.

2:09Feel the weight of your body in the chair.

2:19Feel the air on your skin.

2:28Listen to the sounds in the room.

2:34Maybe it's quiet in the room, maybe it's not.

2:40Both are okay.

2:52You're just listening and welcoming the sounds as part of the exercise, not wishing to change the sounds, just accepting the sounds as they are.

3:24When it feels natural, slowly bring your awareness to the breath.

3:39Allow your breath to be a reminder to stay in this present moment.

3:54If your mind begins to wander, you can always come back to the feeling of the breath.

4:14Relax and let your body honor the natural calm that only comes from the presence of a loving God.

4:40With ease, bring your attention to the breath.

4:55Take a few nice deep breaths.

5:04Make them feel easy and effortless.

5:25Feel life enter your body as you breathe in, and then release your tension as you breathe out.

5:56Inhale.

5:59Feel how the body expands.

6:03Then slowly exhale, feeling the body fall.

6:22Feel the air as it travels in through the nose, and follow the air back out through the mouth.

6:39Allow each breath to soften the chest and relax the shoulders.

6:51Begin to scan the body from the head to the toe, relaxing the body piece by piece.

7:12There's no way to do this wrong.

7:28And now, for a few moments, allow your mind to do what it wants to do.

7:40If it wants to think, then let it think.

7:46And if it wants to rest, then let it rest.

8:04Take this verse with you: Be still, and know that I am God.

8:25Allow your awareness to slowly come back to your body, and when it feels natural, begin to open your eyes.

8:39Sit back in your chair.

8:42Maybe you want to stretch a little bit.

8:45Do whatever feels good.

8:48Take a moment to notice how you feel.

8:53I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

8:57We'll see you again tomorrow for another day of hope.
