0:00When we meditate, we rest our minds and just enjoy the experience.
0:06By creating this space of solitude and quiet, you're allowing yourself to experience the presence and love of God.
0:18Okay.
0:19Let's go ahead and get started by getting comfortable in your chair.
0:28And when you're ready, take a few nice deep breaths, and allow your eyes to slowly close.
0:44As your body begins to settle, take a moment to consider this verse: Truly, my soul finds rest in God.
0:58My salvation comes from Him.
1:08Again, my soul finds rest in God.
1:14My salvation comes from Him.
1:33Now, bring your attention to the position of the body.
1:40Make sure you can breathe in an open and natural way.
1:54Allow the chest to open and take a few nice deep breaths.
2:06Let the breath fill the body up with life.
2:20With each breath, you're bringing your awareness into this moment.
2:34Relax and allow God to speak to you in the way that He wants.
2:50Let your thoughts go, and allow your awareness to rest in this moment.
3:10If your thoughts wander off, that's okay.
3:17It's natural for the thoughts to drift.
3:30As best you can, leave those thoughts right where they are, and come back to that feeling of your body.
3:50Our feelings and emotions can distract us from the natural calm of God's love.
4:03There isn't anything to discover.
4:07It's always been there.
4:16This is a safe place.
4:19God loves you.
4:36Gradually, and with ease, bring your awareness to rest on your breath.
4:53Feel the body rise with each inhale.
5:10Notice how with each breath, the body feels a little calmer.
5:35Begin to notice the space around the body.
5:51Feel the contact of the body on the chair, and your feet on the floor.
6:12When you feel comfortable, begin to scan the entire body to build up a picture of what the body feels like.
6:29Piece by piece, release any areas of tension.
6:40Let go of your stress.
6:43Let go of your anxiety.
6:53You are exactly where you're meant to be.
7:06Allow that natural rhythm of the breath to relax you.
7:23Let your breath guide you to a place of safety in the presence of God.
7:43You are accepted here.
7:46You are loved.
8:03Take this verse with you, "My soul finds rest in God.
8:11My salvation comes from Him." Gently bring your awareness back to the body, and when you feel ready, slowly open your eyes and take a nice deep breath.
8:43Sit back and relax for a moment.
8:47How do you feel?
8:51I hope you feel a little better.
8:54We'll see you next time with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
