0:00Have you ever felt like you had to change to meet someone's approval or to be accepted?
0:07Know that God loves you just as you are.
0:11His love for you is always present and is not dependent on you making some change.
0:19He designed you to be exactly who you are.
0:26When you feel ready, go ahead and get comfortable in your position, really allowing the body to relax.
0:41And when you're ready, let your eyes slowly close.
0:50Take a moment to consider this verse: "I have made you, and I will carry you.
1:01I will sustain you, and I will rescue you." And again, "I have made you, and I will carry you.
1:20I will sustain you, and I will rescue you." With a gradual ease, take a nice big breath.
1:49Be intentional with the breath.
1:56Big, deep inhales, and nice, long exhales.
2:08Relax, and settle into your body.
2:16With each breath, allow the muscles to soften and let go.
2:31Feel that sense of gravity and weight in the body.
2:40You're just uncovering the natural calm that's always accessible through God.
2:58Now, with ease, bring your awareness to the sounds in the room.
3:12Just listening to the sounds with an easy curiosity.
3:21Not placing judgment on the sounds.
3:25Just noticing the sounds, and accepting them as part of this practice.
3:44If the thoughts take you away, it's okay.
3:49When you notice the thoughts, gently bring your awareness back to the sounds.
4:08Just noticing and listening.
4:24Now, for a moment or two, let your awareness go where it wants to go.
4:44When you feel comfortable, bring your attention to the feeling of the body.
4:57Make sure you aren't holding any stress or anxiety in the body.
5:14Consciously, begin to scan the body and make sure everything's comfortable and relaxed.
5:43Take a few natural, deep breaths.
5:50Release any emotions or feelings you brought with you to this practice.
6:08Let God handle what you cannot.
6:21Relax the body a little more with each out breath.
6:33Simply let go, and rest in the presence of God.
6:50Feel the space around the body.
7:01Appreciate the sounds in the room.
7:16Just listening and experiencing the feeling of breathing.
7:32If you notice any resistance in the body, come back to the breath and allow that tension to release.
7:54You are safe.
8:10Take this verse with you, "I have made you, and I will carry you.
8:19I will sustain you, and I will rescue you." Gently bring your awareness back to the feeling of the body.
8:42Notice the weight of the body on the chair, and when you feel ready, allow your eyes to open and take a nice deep breath.
8:56Notice how your breath changes the way you feel.
9:01I hope you feel a little more in touch with God.
9:07We'll see you again next time, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
