0:00Something interesting happens when we experience the Bible through meditation, rather than studying it.

0:08When we study the Bible with our learning, active brain, we can conceptualize its meaning.

0:15When we experience the Bible, through meditation and prayer, we get to experience its meaning in our heart.

0:24We move from knowing God in our head to feeling Him in our heart.

0:32Let's start by taking a few nice, deep breaths.

0:42As your breath begins to relax your body, allow your eyes to close, like the sun sets.

0:55Now take a moment to consider this verse: "He heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds." And again, "He heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds." With a gentle ease,

1:39let's go ahead and take a nice, deep breath.

1:49Notice how good it feels just to breathe.

2:00Allow your inhales to fill the body up, and then totally relax the body on the exhale.

2:22Notice how your breath changes the way your body feels.

2:33And on your next inhale, begin to count the breath.

2:40One on the inhale, and two on the exhale.

2:48Three on the next inhale, and four on the next exhale, counting up to ten and then starting over again.

3:17If you lose track of the breath, it's okay.

3:21Just start over again, counting from one.

3:42There is nowhere to go.

3:46Nowhere to be.

3:50We are just here, counting the breath.

4:04On the next exhale, allow the breath to relax and become natural.

4:19And now, for a moment or two, let your mind relax.

4:39When it feels natural, let's take a nice, big breath.

4:55With each breath, allow the body to become softer and more relaxed.

5:07Almost like a wave of relaxation washing over the body.

5:31The breath fills up the body, and then it gives way to that natural relaxation that's right under the surface.

5:55Now, let's turn our awareness to how the body feels.

6:08Just examining the body with an easy curiosity.

6:20Allow your shoulders to relax and fall away from the ears.

6:31Relax your arms and allow your hands to open and let go.

6:44Allow your temples and face to relax.

6:55Let the throat and the neck soften.

7:04Allow your breath to deepen as your awareness rests deeper.

7:14Just relaxing and releasing.

7:27You are here, and everything is okay.

7:33God is with you.

7:44And now, for a moment or two, let go of any focus and allow yourself to simply be.

8:06Take this verse with you: He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

8:28Allow your awareness to slowly come back to your body, and when it feels natural, begin to open your eyes.

8:42Sit back in your chair.

8:45Maybe you want to stretch a little bit.

8:48Do whatever feels good.

8:51Take a moment to notice how you feel.

8:56I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:00We'll see you again tomorrow for another day of hope.
