0:00Whatever the day may bring, know that God is on your side.
0:07Whether the day is good or bad, God is on your side.
0:13Whether things are going perfect or everything's falling apart, God is on your side.
0:22Regardless of what happens, God is always on your side, and that is enough.
0:33Okay.
0:34Let's go ahead and get started by getting comfortable in your chair.
0:41And when you're ready, take a few nice deep breaths and allow your eyes to slowly close.
0:58Now, take a moment to consider this verse: The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
1:09He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
1:20And again, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
1:28He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
1:47Now, consciously begin to relax your muscles.
2:00Feel the weight of gravity on your body as the chair holds you up.
2:19Begin to notice how the body feels.
2:34Just scanning the body from the head down to the toes.
2:48Consciously relaxing any areas of tightness or tension.
3:02Take a few big, deep breaths in.
3:12Notice how the breath changes the body.
3:23Just relaxing and releasing, allowing your body to totally let go.
3:41If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.
3:46Thoughts are a normal part of meditation.
3:51You aren't holding on to the thoughts or the feelings.
3:57You're just allowing them to bubble up and out.
4:06You're releasing those thoughts to God.
4:22Now, for a moment or two, allow your awareness to rest deeper into God's love.
4:51Now, bring your attention to the way the breath feels and take a few deep breaths.
5:10Gently expand the chest on the inhale, and then let the body soften on the exhale.
5:36With each breath, there's new life entering the body.
5:56As you breathe, begin to soften the body, starting at the top of the head.
6:12Allow the shoulders to fall away from the ears.
6:24Now, gently bring your awareness to the space around the body.
6:43Feel the air on the skin.
6:53Notice the temperature of the air.
7:13And now, gently move your awareness to the heartbeat.
7:31Allow the rhythm of the heartbeat to relax the body.
7:50Let your awareness rest deeper in the presence of God.
8:01Simply let go.
8:17Take this verse with you, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
8:26He rescues those whose spirits are crushed." Gently bring your awareness back to the body, and when you feel ready, slowly open your eyes and take a nice deep breath.
8:59Sit back and relax for a moment.
9:03How do you feel?
9:07I hope you feel a little better.
9:10We'll see you next time with Hope, Mindfulness, and Prayer.
