0:00There are important things all around us that remind us of God's love.
0:06It's the kind gesture of a co-worker when they know you're having a tough time, or the smile on the face of the person in the drive-thru window, or maybe
0:18even more abstract things like spring blooms after a gloomy winter, or the sun coming out after a hard rain.
0:29The simplest noticing can remind us that with Jesus, there's always light behind the clouds.
0:38Let that sit with you as you begin to meditate.
0:45Okay.
0:47Let's begin by getting comfortable.
0:52Take a few nice, big, deep breaths.
1:00And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.
1:10Take a moment to consider this verse: Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us.
1:29And again: Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us.
1:53Now, bring your attention to your breath; just a soft, easy awareness.
2:11Notice what it feels like as air passes in through the nose, and then back out through the mouth.
2:29Let the breath bring life to your body.
2:47Begin to listen to the sound of your breath, listening to the inhale and the exhale.
3:13On the next exhale, allow the breath to relax and become natural.
3:33Allow your breath to bring renewal to your body.
3:41You're making space to notice God's presence in your life.
3:57When it feels comfortable, bring your attention to the heartbeat.
4:13Allow that rhythm and stillness to enter every part of your body.
4:31Feel the presence of God in this space.
4:37Let go of control, and rest into the arms of God.
4:59When it feels comfortable, take a few nice, deep breaths in, really making a point to expand the body and expand the chest.
5:35Notice how the breath makes you feel.
5:49Now let the breath begin to settle.
5:59As your breath begins to settle, allow the body to become heavy.
6:21Notice any sensations in the body.
6:26See if you're holding on to any tension.
6:35Maybe the body is tight or maybe it's not.
6:41Either is okay.
6:50You're just scanning the body, looking for any areas of tightness, and letting them release.
7:07And if the mind drifts away in thought, slowly bring it back to the feelings in the body and the breath.
7:27Your body knows how to relax.
7:38You don't have to think about it for it to happen.
7:43You are simply uncovering the calm that was always present.
8:04Let your awareness rest in the arms of God.
8:23Take this verse with you.
8:27Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us.
8:46Slowly bring your awareness back to the body.
8:52And when you feel ready, allow your eyes to open.
9:00Take a moment to notice how your body feels.
9:06I hope you feel a little better.
9:10We'll see you again tomorrow with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
9:16Remember, be easy with yourself.
