0:00Meditation and prayer are helpful, but it won't always feel that way.

0:09Sometimes your mind will be somewhere else, and you won't feel those immediate benefits.

0:17But the important thing to remember is that that is just a feeling.

0:26The act of praying and spending time with God is good in and of itself.

0:35Meditation and prayer have a cumulative effect.

0:44Whether you feel it immediately or not, you're making deposits that are building a relationship with God.

0:58Okay.

1:00Let's begin by taking a few seconds to consciously relax the body.

1:11And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.

1:21Now take a moment to consider this verse, "The fruit that the Spirit produces in a person's life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness." And again, "The fruit

1:54that the Spirit produces in a person's life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness." Now, let's take some nice deep breaths, in through the nose and out through

2:32the mouth.

2:41Just noticing and observing the breath, watching the rise and the fall of the chest.

3:01Listen to the gentle sound of your breathing.

3:13Begin to notice any feelings you may have brought with you today.

3:27Thoughts are a natural part of meditation.

3:35Just leave those feelings right where they are, and then gently come back to the feeling of the breath.

3:55Long, deep inhale, then a slow controlled exhale.

4:11Allow the breath to calm the mind and relax the body.

4:29And now, allow your awareness to fall and move inward, finding that place where you feel loved.

4:49Feel that natural peace in God's presence.

5:01Remember, when you come near to God, He will come near to you.

5:26Bring your attention to any emotions you're carrying with you.

5:41Not engaging with your feelings, just noticing them.

5:58Almost like you're observing your emotions and then letting them go.

6:08Just like loosening your grip, you're letting go of those feelings.

6:37Let God handle whatever is out of your control.

6:54This is a place of acceptance and safety.

7:02You can always find rest in God.

7:17Now, begin to notice how your body feels.

7:28When it feels comfortable, begin to consciously relax the body.

7:47Scanning down from your head to your toes, release any areas of tension in the body.

8:07Surrender all of your stress and all of your responsibilities, and just let your mind rest.

8:32You are safe.

8:35God is looking out for you.

8:51Take this verse with you, "The fruit that the Spirit produces in a person's life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness." When you feel ready, slowly bring your

9:27awareness back to the breath and allow your eyes to open.

9:35Take a few deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.

9:45Notice how you feel.

9:50I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:54We'll see you again tomorrow with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
