0:00You can't control what happens in your life, but you can choose to have a healthy relationship with your feelings.

0:13Feelings will always come and go, but God will always be by your side.

0:26Accept your emotions as they are, and leave the rest to God.

0:38Let's begin by allowing the body to become heavy.

0:47And as you begin to relax, allow your eyes to close.

0:57Now, take a moment to consider this verse: "The Lord is close to those who have suffered disappointment.

1:09He saves those who are discouraged." And again, "The Lord is close to those who have suffered disappointment.

1:27He saves those who are discouraged." Gently bring your awareness to any sensations you're feeling, just noticing the sensations on the body.

2:05Maybe it's the air on the skin, or the weight of the body in the chair.

2:18Just noticing and welcoming these sensations as part of the meditation.

2:34Notice the rise and the fall of the chest as you breathe.

2:50Follow the breath and notice how it changes your body, the inhales expanding the body and filling it up with life, and the exhales relaxing the body, letting go.

3:26Follow the breath as it comes in through the nose, and then goes back out through the mouth.

3:44You don't have to do anything.

3:48It's natural and effortless.

3:52Your body knows how to relax.

3:59You are simply unearthing the calm that was already there.

4:12This is a safe place of love and deep rest.

4:26Allow your mind to take refuge in God.

4:48When it feels natural, let's take a nice, big breath.

5:02With each breath, allow the body to become softer and more relaxed, almost like a wave of relaxation washing over the body.

5:32The breath fills up the body, and then it gives way to that natural relaxation that's right under the surface.

5:58Now, let's turn our awareness to how the body feels.

6:10Just examining the body with an easy curiosity.

6:25Allow your shoulders to relax and fall away from the ears.

6:35Relax your arms and allow your hands to open and let go.

6:46Allow your temples and face to relax.

6:56Let the throat and the neck soften.

7:04Allow your breath to deepen as your awareness rests deeper.

7:14Just relaxing and releasing.

7:27You are here, and everything is okay.

7:33God is with you.

7:49And now, for a moment or two, let go of any focus and allow yourself to simply be.

8:14Take this verse with you: "The Lord is close to those who have suffered disappointment.

8:23He saves those who are discouraged." When it feels natural, bring your awareness back to the room.

8:45Just noticing the room with a gentle appreciation.

8:52And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly open.

8:58Take a moment to notice how you feel.

9:02I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:05We'll see you again tomorrow for another day of hope.
