0:00it can be helpful to think of meditation and prayer as a special place where you can go to rest, a place that is totally yours where you can spend

0:14time with God.

0:20As you meditate today, allow yourself to go to your special place of peace.

0:33Let's begin by loosening the shoulders and the chest.

0:41And when you feel ready, just allow the eyes to slowly close.

0:52Take a moment to consider this verse, "Many people are suffering, crushed by the weight of their troubles, but the Lord is a refuge for them, a safe place they

1:09can run to." And again, "Many people are suffering, crushed by the weight of their troubles, but the Lord is a refuge for them, a safe place they can run

1:31to." In your own time, take a few nice deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.

2:03Allow the body to let go a little bit more with each exhale.

2:17Feel the face and the neck softening as your body begins to relax.

2:32Notice how your breath softens and relaxes the body.

2:47Come to that sense of weight in the body, allowing the chair to hold the body up.

3:05Relax the arms all the way down to the hands.

3:13Allow the legs to become heavy, relaxing all the way down to the toes.

3:29Feel the muscles softening.

3:41Allow the natural rhythm of the breath to relax the body.

3:53Notice the rise and the fall of the chest.

4:06Just noticing how good it feels just to breathe.

4:24And now, for a moment or two, let your awareness be free.

4:33Let it rest.

4:49As you relax, allow God's presence of peace to wash over you.

5:11Let your breath fill your body and relax your muscles.

5:29As your breath relaxes your body, bring your attention to the heartbeat.

5:49Just noticing the quiet rhythm of your heartbeat.

6:03Allow that rhythm and stillness to calm your mind, to relax your body.

6:25Let go of any feelings of stress or worry.

6:43God is taking care of you.

6:59Allow those feelings to go.

7:07You are safe here.

7:23And if thoughts take you away, that's okay.

7:29Be easy with the thoughts.

7:33Just remember, you can always come back to the breath and the heartbeat.

7:53Let yourself relax, and allow God to speak to your heart.

8:13Take this verse with you: Many people are suffering, crushed by the weight of their troubles, but the Lord is a refuge for them, a safe place they can run

8:28to.

8:41Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the body, maybe even move your fingers and toes a little bit.

8:54When it feels natural, allow your eyes to slowly open.

9:01Take another big, deep breath in, and let it out with a sigh.

9:08Notice how you feel.

9:10I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:13We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
