0:01After creating the universe, God rested on the seventh day.

0:09He made a point to tell us that He rested.

0:16This means that He considered rest very important.

0:25Today, as you settle into this meditation, remind yourself that things in your life can wait because rest is holy.

0:43Let's begin by noticing the weight of the body, allowing the body to relax into the chair.

0:59And as the body begins to relax, allow your eyes to close.

1:10Take a moment to consider this verse, "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." And again, "You will keep

1:39in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." Gently bring your awareness to any sensations you're feeling, just noticing the sensations on the

2:12body.

2:19Maybe it's the air on the skin, or the weight of the body in the chair, just noticing and welcoming these sensations as part of the meditation.

2:48Notice the rise and the fall of the chest as you breathe.

3:04Follow the breath and notice how it changes your body.

3:12The inhales expanding the body and filling it up with life, and the exhales relaxing the body, letting go.

3:40Follow the breath as it comes in through the nose and then goes back out through the mouth.

3:54You don't have to do anything.

4:02It's natural and effortless.

4:06Your body knows how to relax.

4:13You are simply unearthing the calm that was already there.

4:25This is a safe place of love and deep rest.

4:40Allow your mind to take refuge in God.

5:02When it feels natural, let's take a nice big breath.

5:16With each breath, allow the body to become softer and more relaxed, almost like a wave of relaxation washing over the body.

5:46The breath fills up the body, and then it gives way to that natural relaxation that's right under the surface.

6:12Now, let's turn our awareness to how the body feels.

6:24Just examining the body with an easy curiosity.

6:39Allow your shoulders to relax and fall away from the ears.

6:49Relax your arms and allow your hands to open and let go.

7:00Allow your temples and face to relax.

7:10Let the throat and the neck soften.

7:18Allow your breath to deepen as your awareness rests deeper.

7:28Just relaxing and releasing.

7:41You are here, and everything is okay.

7:47God is with you.

8:03And now, for a moment or two, let go of any focus and allow yourself to simply be.

8:28Take this verse with you: "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." When it feels natural, bring your awareness

8:57back to the room.

8:59Just noticing the room with a gentle appreciation.

9:06And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly open.

9:12Take a moment to notice how you feel.

9:16I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:19We'll see you again tomorrow for another day of hope.
