0:00Stress and anxiety often present themselves when you spend too much time thinking about the future.
0:11Expectations can be misleading and are often wrong.
0:19Life can only be lived in the here and now.
0:26Today, as you meditate, remind yourself that in this very moment, everything is okay.
0:42Let's start by taking a few nice, deep breaths.
0:52As your breath begins to relax your body, allow your eyes to close, like the sun sets.
1:05Now take a moment to consider this verse: Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
1:29And again, even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
1:55Bring your attention to any tightness in the body.
2:03Just noticing how the body feels.
2:15Start by relaxing the hands, letting go of any tension in the hands.
2:31Allow the arms to totally relax, letting go at the elbows and the wrists.
2:46Let the shoulders fall away from the ears.
3:00Let the legs become heavy.
3:10Allow the muscles to completely let go.
3:24Let your body totally relax and release.
3:39And now, if it feels comfortable, take a big deep breath, letting the air fill up the body.
3:55Feel the chest rise on the inhale and fall on the exhale.
4:13Notice how the breath changes the way the body feels.
4:30And now, for a moment or two, let go of any focus, and just allow yourself to be.
4:59Now, let's take some nice deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.
5:19Just noticing and observing the breath.
5:33Listen to the gentle sound of your breathing.
5:49Begin to notice any feelings you may have brought with you today.
6:09Thoughts are a natural part of meditation.
6:17Just leave those feelings right where they are, and then gently come back to the feeling of the breath.
6:43Long, deep inhale, then a slow controlled exhale.
7:03Allow the breath to calm the mind and relax the body.
7:23And now, allow your awareness to fall and move inward, finding that place where you feel loved.
7:47Feel that natural peace in God's presence.
8:03Remember, when you come near to God, He will come near to you.
8:25Take this verse with you: "How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God?
8:34And when I wake up, You are still with me." When it feels easy, bring your attention back to the feeling of the breath.
9:00Take a few more deep breaths and slowly allow your eyes to open.
9:08Notice how the breath changes the way you feel.
9:13I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:17We'll see you again tomorrow.
9:20Take care of yourself.
