0:00God is not in some far away place.
0:06In fact, Jesus says that God lives within you.
0:13God's spirit actually resides inside of you.
0:19As you spend time in meditation today, rest knowing that God is living inside of you, now and forever.
0:35Okay, let's begin by taking a few seconds to consciously relax the body.
0:49And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.
0:58Now, take a moment to consider this verse: "The Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." Again, "The Spirit who lives in
1:23you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." Now, take a moment to be grateful for this opportunity to relax.
1:56Notice how good it feels just to be here, in this moment.
2:12When it feels natural, begin to deepen the breath.
2:24Let go of your worries, and focus your attention on the breath.
2:36Nothing else matters right now.
2:44You are here.
2:47There's nothing to do but relax.
3:00Allow your body to honor the natural calm given by God's presence.
3:12Just listening to the breath, noticing the rise and the fall of the chest.
3:25Deep breath in, expanding the body, and then exhale, letting your awareness rest.
3:46Take another deep breath as you feel your lungs expand.
3:55And exhale, following the air back out through the mouth.
4:09The thoughts may take you away, and that's okay.
4:20With each breath, effortlessly rest into the arms of God.
4:44Now, slowly begin to take some deep breaths, allowing the body to open.
5:02Let the breath relax any areas of tightness in the body.
5:20Consciously, start to turn the muscles off.
5:28Start with the muscles in the feet and the legs.
5:36Allow the feet to be heavy on the floor.
5:44Allow the chest and the back to open, so the breathing can become deep and natural.
6:04Soften the shoulders.
6:08Allow them to fall away from the ears.
6:18Let the head fall and become heavy at the neck.
6:30Feel the weight of the body, and how it pushes you down into the chair.
6:48When it feels comfortable, bring your awareness to the sound of your breath.
6:58Not changing anything about the breath, just noticing it.
7:14Listening to the gentle rhythm of the inhales and exhales.
7:27Filling the body up with fresh air, and then slowly exhaling and letting go.
7:53Let your mind be still.
8:10Take this verse with you: "The spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." Allow your awareness to slowly come back to your
8:38body.
8:41And when it feels natural, begin to open your eyes.
8:48Sit back in your chair.
8:51Maybe you want to stretch a little bit.
8:54Do whatever feels good.
8:57Take a moment to notice how you feel.
9:03I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:06We'll see you again tomorrow for another day of hope.
