0:00We're all trying to create a life where we're safe all of the time.

0:07But, no matter how secure your job or your family is, you'll never be able to create a reality that's free from disaster.

0:20Given this fact, you're only left with faith.

0:25Faith that God is at work in your life, and faith that you are loved.

0:33Rest, and find the peace that comes when you let go.

0:46Okay.

0:47Let's begin by getting comfortable.

0:52Taking a few nice, big, deep breaths.

1:00And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.

1:10Now take a moment to consider this verse: "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." "You will keep in

1:36perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." Now, bring your attention to the way the breath feels, and take a few deep breaths.

2:14Gently expand the chest on the inhale, and then let the body soften on the exhale.

2:34With each breath, there's new life entering the body.

2:50As you breathe, begin to soften the body, starting at the top of the head.

3:05Allow the shoulders to fall away from the ears.

3:16Feel gravity push the body down into the chair.

3:28Now, gently bring your awareness to the space around the body.

3:43Feel the air on the skin.

3:51Notice the temperature of the air.

4:05And now, gently move your awareness to the heartbeat.

4:20Allow the rhythm of the heartbeat to relax the body.

4:32Let your awareness rest deeper in the presence of God.

4:43Simply let go.

4:59Now, consciously begin to relax your muscles.

5:15Begin to notice how the body feels.

5:30Just scanning the body from the head down to the toes.

5:51Consciously relaxing any areas of tightness or tension.

6:21Take a few big, deep breaths in.

6:38Notice how the breath changes the body.

6:55Just relaxing and releasing, allowing your body to totally let go.

7:18If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.

7:24Thoughts are a normal part of meditation.

7:29You aren't holding onto the thoughts or the feelings.

7:35You're just allowing them to bubble up and out.

7:46You're releasing those thoughts to God.

8:02Now, for a moment or two, allow your awareness to rest deeper into God's love.

8:25Take this verse with you, "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." Slowly bring your awareness back to the

8:55body, and when you feel ready, allow your eyes to open.

9:04Take a moment to notice how your body feels.

9:10I hope you feel a little better.

9:14We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.

9:21Remember, be easy with yourself.
