0:00It's common for people to feel like they aren't good enough.

0:05Whether that's living up to the expectations set by others or expectations we set for ourselves, it can be disappointing.

0:17As you relax into this meditation today, remember that this false standard doesn't exist with God.

0:27He loves you as you are, with no conditions.

0:33You are loved because God is love.

0:56Okay, let's go ahead and get started by getting comfortable in your chair.

1:04And when you're ready, take a few nice deep breaths and allow your eyes to slowly close.

1:20Now, take a moment to consider this verse, "This hope will not lead to disappointment, for we know how dearly God loves us." And again, "This hope will not lead

1:46to disappointment, for we know how dearly God loves us." Now, bring your attention to the position of the body.

2:12Make sure you can breathe in an open and natural way.

2:26Allow the chest to open and take a few nice, deep breaths.

2:38Let the breath fill the body up with life.

2:52With each breath, you're bringing your awareness into this moment.

3:06Relax and allow God to speak to you in the way that He wants.

3:22Let your thoughts go and allow your awareness to rest in this moment.

3:42If your thoughts wander off, that's okay.

3:48It's natural for the thoughts to drift.

4:02As best you can, leave those thoughts right where they are and come back to that feeling of your body.

4:21Our feelings and emotions can distract us from the natural calm of God's love.

4:34There isn't anything to discover.

4:38It's always been there.

4:47This is a safe place.

4:51God loves you.

5:08Gradually, and with ease, bring your awareness to rest on your breath.

5:25Feel the body rise with each inhale.

5:42Notice how with each breath, the body feels a little calmer.

6:06Begin to notice the space around the body.

6:23Feel the contact of the body on the chair, and your feet on the floor.

6:44When you feel comfortable, begin to scan the entire body to build up a picture of what the body feels like.

7:01Piece by piece, release any areas of tension.

7:12Let go of your stress.

7:15Let go of your anxiety.

7:25You are exactly where you're meant to be.

7:38Allow that natural rhythm of the breath to relax you.

7:55Let your breath guide you to a place of safety in the presence of God.

8:14You are accepted here.

8:17You are loved.

8:34Take this verse with you: "This hope will not lead to disappointment, for we know how dearly God loves us." Gently bring your awareness back to the body, and when

9:04you feel ready, slowly open your eyes and take a nice deep breath.

9:13Sit back and relax for a moment.

9:17How do you feel?

9:21I hope you feel a little better.

9:24We'll see you next time with Hope, Mindfulness, and Prayer.
