0:00There's a saying that faith isn't taught, but caught.
0:06The idea is that we acquire faith by seeing the difference faith makes in others.
0:15As you meditate, remember that you aren't just strengthening your own faith, but you may be the spark that creates faith in others.
0:30Let's begin by noticing the weight of the body, allowing the body to relax into the chair.
0:46And as the body begins to relax, allow your eyes to close.
0:57Take a moment to consider this verse: Don't hide your light.
1:05Let it shine for all.
1:15And again, don't hide your light.
1:21Let it shine for all.
1:35Now, bring your awareness to the feeling of the body.
1:47Maybe there's some muscle tightness or stress lingering in the body.
1:59Slowly bring your attention to those areas of tightness and relax them piece by piece.
2:19Feel the weight of your body in the chair.
2:31As your body begins to relax, allow your mind to let go.
2:42Give yourself permission to start fresh.
2:53What is done is done.
2:58All you have is this moment.
3:10This is a safe place.
3:15Release your thoughts to God.
3:31When it feels comfortable, take a few nice, deep breaths.
3:43Inhale, feel the chest rise.
3:49And exhale, feel the chest fall.
4:00There's no way to do this wrong.
4:08If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.
4:14When it feels comfortable, bring your awareness back to the feeling of the breath.
4:39With a gentle ease, let's go ahead and take a nice, deep breath.
4:55Notice how good it feels just to breathe.
5:09Allow your inhales to fill the body up.
5:21And then, totally relax the body on the exhale.
5:36Notice how your breath changes the way your body feels.
5:53And on your next inhale, begin to count the breath.
6:00One on the inhale, and two on the exhale.
6:08Three on the next inhale, and four on the next exhale.
6:18Counting up to 10, and then starting over again.
6:26If you lose track of the breath, it's okay, just start over again counting from one.
7:03There is nowhere to go, nowhere to be.
7:10We are just here, counting the breath.
7:25On the next exhale, allow the breath to relax and become natural.
7:45And now, for a moment or two, let your mind relax.
8:05Take this verse with you: Don't hide your light.
8:12Let it shine for all.
8:26When it feels natural, bring your awareness back to the room.
8:33Just noticing the room with a gentle appreciation.
8:40And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly open.
8:46Take a moment to notice how you feel.
8:50I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
8:53We'll see you again tomorrow for another day of hope.
