0:00Our natural inclination is to seek what the world offers us.
0:06Maybe it's wealth or material things, or maybe it's something simple like the approval of others.
0:16But anyone who's received these things will tell you that they're largely unfulfilling.
0:24At best, they're good for brief moments of happiness, but they'll leave you feeling exactly as you did before, unfulfilled.
0:37Meaning is found not through things, but through people and God.
0:45Today, as you meditate, allow Jesus to give you what only He can, fulfillment.
0:58Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable.
1:06Take a few nice big, deep breaths.
1:13And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.
1:23Take a moment to consider this verse.
1:27"It takes more than bread to stay alive.
1:34It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth." "It takes more than bread to stay alive.
1:50It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth." As you relax, allow God's presence of peace to wash over you.
2:25Let your breath fill your body and relax your muscles.
2:40As your breath relaxes your body, bring your attention to the heartbeat.
2:59Just noticing the quiet rhythm of your heartbeat.
3:13Allow that rhythm and stillness to calm your mind, to relax your body.
3:33Let go of any feelings of stress or worry.
3:49God is taking care of you.
4:03Allow those feelings to go.
4:11You are safe here.
4:23And if thoughts take you away, that's okay.
4:29Be easy with the thoughts.
4:33Just remember, you can always come back to the breath and the heartbeat.
4:52Let yourself relax and allow God to speak to your heart.
5:09When it feels comfortable, take a few nice deep breaths in.
5:22Really making a point to expand the body and expand the chest.
5:39Notice how the breath makes you feel.
5:55Now let the breath begin to settle.
6:08As your breath begins to settle, allow the body to become heavy.
6:25Notice any sensations in the body.
6:31See if you're holding onto any tension.
6:45Maybe the body is tight, or maybe it's not.
6:51Either is okay.
7:07You're just scanning the body, looking for any areas of tightness, and letting them release.
7:25And if the mind drifts away in thought, slowly bring it back to the feelings in the body and the breath.
7:45Your body knows how to relax.
7:57You don't have to think about it for it to happen.
8:01You are simply uncovering the calm that was always present.
8:18Let your awareness rest in the arms of God.
8:37Take this verse with you: It takes more than bread to stay alive.
8:46It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth.
9:11Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the body, maybe even move your fingers and toes a little bit.
9:23When it feels natural, allow your eyes to slowly open.
9:30Take another big, deep breath in, and let it out with a sigh.
9:37Notice how you feel.
9:40I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:43We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
