0:01Meditation is more than just breathing exercises and mental tools.
0:08Meditation is resting into a space in your heart.
0:16This is a place of safety, acceptance, and renewal.
0:27It's a place where you can reconnect with your Creator.
0:33Today as you meditate, allow yourself to enter that place of renewal and rest with God.
0:47Let's begin by noticing the weight of the body, allowing the body to relax into the chair.
1:04And as the body begins to relax, allow your eyes to close.
1:14Take a moment to consider this verse: "Leave your troubles with the Lord, and He will defend you." And again, "Leave your troubles with the Lord, and He will defend
1:38you." With a gradual ease, take a nice, big breath.
2:01Be intentional with the breath.
2:07Big, deep inhales, and nice, long exhales.
2:19Relax and settle into your body.
2:27With each breath, allow the muscles to soften and let go.
2:43Feel that sense of gravity and weight in the body.
2:52You're just uncovering the natural calm that's always accessible through God.
3:10Now, with ease, bring your awareness to the sounds in the room.
3:23Just listening to the sounds with an easy curiosity.
3:32Not placing judgment on the sounds, just noticing the sounds and accepting them as part of this practice.
3:56If the thoughts take you away, it's okay.
4:01When you notice the thoughts, gently bring your awareness back to the sounds.
4:19Just noticing and listening.
4:36Now, for a moment or two, let your awareness go where it wants to go.
5:02Now bring your attention to the way it feels when you breathe.
5:23Feel the stomach and the chest rise with each inhale.
5:34And feel the body relax with each exhale.
5:57In through the nose.
6:01Feel the body expand.
6:05...
6:05and then slowly exhale.
6:25Let the breath be natural.
6:30Let the breath naturally relax the body.
6:50Allow the face and the neck to soften.
7:10Allow the forehead to relax and the shoulders to fall away from the ears.
7:30Relax the body and allow the chair to hold the body up.
7:47Just relaxing ...
7:51and letting the body unwind.
8:05Simply let go.
8:21Take this verse with you, "Leave your troubles with the Lord, and He will defend you." When it feels easy, bring your attention back to the feeling of the breath.
8:55Take a few more deep breaths and slowly allow your eyes to open.
9:04Notice how the breath changes the way you feel.
9:09I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:13We'll see you again tomorrow.
9:16Take care of yourself.
