0:01Releasing control to God can feel like giving up.

0:07It's natural to feel that way.

0:13Like a leaf floating down a stream, letting go gives you the flexibility to float and move where God needs you to go.

0:26Peace is found when we accept change.

0:34Okay.

0:35Let's go ahead and get started by getting comfortable in your chair.

0:44And when you're ready, take a few nice deep breaths and allow your eyes to slowly close.

1:00As your body begins to settle, take a moment to consider this verse.

1:09"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." And again, "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for

1:33my path." Now, consciously begin to relax your muscles.

1:59Feel the weight of gravity on your body as the chair holds you up.

2:18Begin to notice how the body feels.

2:34Just scanning the body from the head down to the toes.

2:47Consciously relaxing any areas of tightness or tension.

3:01Take a few big deep breaths in.

3:11Notice how the breath changes the body.

3:22Just relaxing and releasing, allowing your body to totally let go.

3:40If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.

3:46Thoughts are a normal part of meditation.

3:51You aren't holding on to the thoughts or the feelings, you're just allowing them to bubble up and out.

4:06You're releasing those thoughts to God.

4:21Now, for a moment or two, allow your awareness to rest deeper into God's love.

4:51Now, bring your attention to the way the breath feels and take a few deep breaths.

5:10Gently expand the chest on the inhale, and then let the body soften on the exhale.

5:36With each breath, there's new life entering the body.

5:56As you breathe, begin to soften the body, starting at the top of the head.

6:12Allow the shoulders to fall away from the ears.

6:24Now gently bring your awareness to the space around the body.

6:42Feel the air on the skin.

6:52Notice the temperature of the air.

7:12And now, gently move your awareness to the heartbeat.

7:31Allow the rhythm of the heartbeat to relax the body.

7:50Let your awareness rest deeper in the presence of God.

8:00Simply let go.

8:16Take this verse with you, "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." Gently bring your awareness back to the body, and when

8:49you feel ready, slowly open your eyes and take a nice deep breath.

8:58Sit back and relax for a moment.

9:02How do you feel?

9:06I hope you feel a little better.

9:09We'll see you next time with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
