0:00Life is a journey.
0:04We're wired to focus on destinations, but rarely are we focused on the journey.
0:14After we get to a destination, we just look down the road toward our next one, but we forget to appreciate where we are.
0:27In always looking for the next thing, we lose sight of the beauty in this moment.
0:37Today as you meditate, allow yourself to slow down and enjoy the journey.
0:48Let's start by taking a few nice deep breaths.
0:57As your breath begins to relax your body, allow your eyes to close like the sun sets.
1:10Take a moment to consider this verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
1:21Do not depend on your own understanding.
1:33And again: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
1:41Do not depend on your own understanding.
1:56Bring your attention to any tightness in the body.
2:05Just noticing how the body feels.
2:16Start by relaxing the hands, letting go of any tension in the hands.
2:33Allow the arms to totally relax, letting go at the elbows and the wrists.
2:49Let the shoulders fall away from the ears.
3:01Let the legs become heavy.
3:11Allow the muscles to completely let go.
3:25Let your body totally relax and release.
3:40And now, if it feels comfortable, take a big deep breath, letting the air fill up the body.
3:57Feel the chest rise on the inhale and fall on the exhale.
4:14Notice how the breath changes the way the body feels.
4:31And now, for a moment or two, let go of any focus and just allow yourself to be.
5:01Now let's take some nice deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.
5:20Just noticing and observing the breath.
5:34Listen to the gentle sound of your breathing.
5:50Begin to notice any feelings you may have brought with you today.
6:10Thoughts are a natural part of meditation.
6:18Just leave those feelings right where they are, and then gently come back to the feeling of the breath.
6:44Long, deep inhale, then a slow controlled exhale.
7:04Allow the breath to calm the mind and relax the body.
7:24And now, allow your awareness to fall and move inward, finding that place where you feel loved.
7:48Feel that natural peace in God's presence.
8:05Remember, when you come near to God, He will come near to you.
8:26Take this verse with you.
8:31"Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
8:36Do not depend on your own understanding." When it feels easy, bring your attention back to the feeling of the breath.
9:03Take a few more deep breaths and slowly allow your eyes to open.
9:12Notice how the breath changes the way you feel.
9:17I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:21We'll see you again tomorrow.
9:24Take care of yourself.
