0:00The thing that's great about youth is that the future is unwritten and unlimited.

0:08Anything is possible.

0:12But as you get older, you accept the false reality that your best days are behind you, and not before you.

0:22But God says this is not true.

0:26God tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven is accessible in the here and now.

0:33As you meditate today, rest in that promise of peace.

0:42Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable.

0:49Taking a few nice, big, deep breaths.

0:57And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.

1:07Now, take a moment to consider this verse: "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished."

1:32And again: "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished." With a gentle curiosity, begin to

2:05notice the breath.

2:12Natural breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

2:26Make the breath deep and full of life.

2:35Allow that fresh air to fill up the lungs, and then relax the body as you exhale.

3:00Let your body become heavy as your mind continues to relax.

3:08You are exactly where you need to be.

3:24And now, come to the heartbeat.

3:30Maybe even listen for its rhythm.

3:40Just relaxing and releasing.

3:50If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.

3:57When it's easy, bring your awareness back to the heartbeat.

4:12Just listen to your heartbeat and the gentle sound of your breath.

4:26Let your breath act as an anchor to this moment and this practice.

4:40With each breath, allow yourself to rest further into the calm of God's love.

5:02With an easy awareness, bring your attention to the space in the room.

5:23Just noticing the space with an easy curiosity.

5:37Notice your place in the room.

5:50Feel the weight of your body in the chair.

6:00Feel the air on your skin.

6:11Listen to the sounds in the room.

6:17Maybe it's quiet in the room, maybe it's not.

6:23Both are okay.

6:35You're just listening and welcoming the sounds as part of the exercise.

6:50Not wishing to change the sounds, just accepting the sounds as they are.

7:09When it feels natural, slowly bring your awareness to the breath.

7:28Allow your breath to be a reminder to stay in this present moment.

7:46(pause of 10 seconds) If your mind begins to wander, you can always come back to the feeling of the breath.

8:05Relax and let your body honor the natural calm that only comes from the presence of a loving God.

8:30(pause of 12 seconds) Take this verse with you.

8:34"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished." (pause of 16 seconds) Slowly begin to bring your awareness back

9:06to the body.

9:10Maybe even move your fingers and toes a little bit.

9:14When it feels natural, allow your eyes to slowly open.

9:21Take another big, deep breath in, and let it out with a sigh.

9:28Notice how you feel.

9:31I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:34We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
