0:00Going through life, it can feel like we have to be different people for our different roles.
0:08Maybe you need to be the dependable one at work or the loving one at home.
0:16It's hard to find a time just to be who you are.
0:23Today, as you pray, allow yourself to be who you are.
0:30There's no one to impress, no responsibilities to uphold, just allow yourself to be.
0:44Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable.
0:51Take a few nice big, deep breaths, and when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.
1:09Take a moment to consider this verse: "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Again, "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Now bring
1:57your attention to the way the breath feels, and take a few deep breaths.
2:14Gently expand the chest on the inhale, and then let the body soften on the exhale.
2:34With each breath, there's new life entering the body.
2:50As you breathe, begin to soften the body, starting at the top of the head.
3:04Allow the shoulders to fall away from the ears.
3:16Feel gravity push the body down into the chair.
3:28Now gently bring your awareness to the space around the body.
3:42Feel the air on the skin.
3:50Notice the temperature of the air.
4:04And now, gently move your awareness to the heartbeat.
4:19Allow the rhythm of the heartbeat to relax the body.
4:31Let your awareness rest deeper in the presence of God.
4:42Simply let go.
4:58Now consciously begin to relax your muscles.
5:14Begin to notice how the body feels.
5:30Just scanning the body from the head down to the toes.
5:50Consciously relaxing any areas of tightness or tension.
6:20Take a few big, deep breaths in.
6:37Notice how the breath changes the body.
6:54Just relaxing and releasing, allowing your body to totally let go.
7:18If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.
7:24Thoughts are a normal part of meditation.
7:29You aren't holding onto the thoughts or the feelings.
7:34You're just allowing them to bubble up and out.
7:45You're releasing those thoughts to God.
8:01Now, for a moment or two, allow your awareness to rest deeper into God's love.
8:24Take this verse with you, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Slowly bring your awareness back to the body, and when you feel ready, allow your
8:59eyes to open.
9:03Take a moment to notice how your body feels.
9:09I hope you feel a little better.
9:13We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
9:20Remember, be easy with yourself.
