0:01Just as you might take vitamins or medicine to protect you from getting sick, prayer and meditation can act to protect you from the ups and downs of life.
0:16Spending time with Jesus is investing in your foundation that will protect you from the storms of life.
0:26As you meditate today, remind yourself that you're building a solid foundation to stand on.
0:38Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable and taking a few deep breaths.
0:50As you begin to feel your body releasing, allow your eyes to slowly close.
1:02Now take a moment to consider this verse.
1:09He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.
1:22And again, He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.
1:44Now, bring your attention to any emotions you're carrying with you.
1:56Not engaging with the emotions, just noticing them with an easy curiosity.
2:20Now take a few deep breaths and allow the body to relax a little more with each exhale.
2:42With each passing thought, allow your awareness to rest deeper into God's love.
3:01Now, begin to deepen the breath.
3:12Inhale slowly and lengthen the breath, and then exhale, letting go of the breath.
3:30And then right back into the next inhale.
3:38Slow it down and make it deep.
3:49And then exhale.
3:51Let the body relax.
4:08Now, allow your breath to settle and let your mind settle with it.
4:27Give yourself space just to be who you are, a child of God.
4:50Now take a moment to be grateful for this opportunity to relax.
5:07Notice how good it feels just to be here in this moment.
5:23Let go of your worries and focus your attention on the breath.
5:46Nothing else matters right now.
5:51You are here.
5:54There's nothing to do but relax.
6:14Allow your body to honor the natural calm given by God's presence.
6:29Just listening to the breath, noticing the rise and the fall of the chest.
6:46Deep breath in, expanding the body, and then exhale, letting your awareness rest.
7:09Take another deep breath as you feel your lungs expand.
7:19And exhale, following the air back out through the mouth.
7:32The thoughts may take you away, and that's okay.
7:51With each breath, effortlessly rest into the arms of God.
8:14Take this verse with you, "He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves." Gently bring your awareness back to the feeling of your breath.
8:48Listen to the sound of your breathing.
8:52And when you're ready, slowly open your eyes and take another deep breath in.
9:02Give yourself a stretch and sit back and relax.
9:07Remember to take a moment to check in and notice how you feel.
9:14I hope you feel better.
9:17Take care.
9:19And we'll see you again tomorrow with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
