0:01One of the only constants in life is change.
0:05And when things are changing, it's easy to wish for some past reality or hope for a future that doesn't seem to be possible anymore.
0:17But the truth is that neither of those things are real.
0:23The present moment is all that you are given.
0:29While change can be difficult, you have to trust that God is moving in your life.
0:37You have to choose to see Him in your present existence.
0:45Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable.
0:51Taking a few nice, big, deep breaths.
0:59And when you're ready, allow your eyes to slowly close.
1:09Now, take a moment to consider this verse: "I will answer them before they even call to me.
1:21While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers." And again, "I will answer them before they even call to me.
1:43While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers." As you relax, allow God's presence of peace to wash over you.
2:23Let your breath fill your body and relax your muscles.
2:39As your breath relaxes your body, bring your attention to the heartbeat.
2:57Just noticing the quiet rhythm of your heartbeat.
3:11Allow that rhythm and stillness to calm your mind, to relax your body.
3:31Let go of any feelings of stress or worry.
3:47God is taking care of you.
4:01Allow those feelings to go.
4:09You are safe here.
4:21And if thoughts take you away, that's okay.
4:27Be easy with the thoughts.
4:31Just remember, you can always come back to the breath and the heartbeat.
4:50Let yourself relax and allow God to speak to your heart.
5:07When it feels comfortable, take a few nice, deep breaths in.
5:21Really making a point to expand the body and expand the chest.
5:37Notice how the breath makes you feel.
5:53Now, let the breath begin to settle.
6:06As your breath begins to settle, allow the body to become heavy.
6:23Notice any sensations in the body.
6:29See if you're holding onto any tension.
6:43Maybe the body is tight, or maybe it's not.
6:49Either is okay.
7:05You're just scanning the body, looking for any areas of tightness, and letting them release.
7:23And if the mind drifts away in thought, slowly bring it back to the feelings in the body and the breath.
7:43Your body knows how to relax.
7:55You don't have to think about it for it to happen.
7:59You are simply uncovering the calm that was always present.
8:16Let your awareness rest in the arms of God.
8:35Take this verse with you: "I will answer them before they even call to me.
8:45While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers." Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the body, maybe even move your
9:14fingers and toes a little bit.
9:17When it feels natural, allow your eyes to slowly open.
9:24Take another big, deep breath in, and let it out with a sigh.
9:31Notice how you feel.
9:34I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
9:37We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
