0:00Life throws a lot of things at us that demand our attention.
0:06Sometimes it feels like we're busy an entire day, but when the day is over, it feels as though nothing was accomplished.
0:14If we can learn to approach each moment as a gift, we can see past the busyness and learn to appreciate the little things.
0:26Let's begin by loosening the shoulders and the chest.
0:34And when you feel ready, just allow the eyes to slowly close.
0:45Take a moment to consider this verse: "The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing." Again, "The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing." Now begin to soften the body
1:30and pay attention to the breath.
1:40Now take a deep breath until the air reaches the top of the chest, and then slowly exhale.
2:04And again, let your inhale be slow and expansive, and then exhale, following the breath back out.
2:32Allow your breath to settle and become natural.
2:48Bring your attention to any sounds in the room.
3:00Maybe the room is quiet, or maybe it's not.
3:07Both are okay.
3:14Just notice the sounds and accept them as they are.
3:30You're right where you need to be.
3:44In this moment, everything is okay.
3:50God loves you.
4:02This is a place of rest and safety.
4:16Simply let go.
4:29Gradually, and with ease, bring your awareness to rest on your breath.
4:45Feel the body rise with each inhale, and then allow your awareness to rest in a little more with each exhale.
5:17Notice how with each breath, the body feels a little calmer.
5:34Begin to notice the space around the body.
5:45Feel the contact of the body on the chair, and your feet on the floor.
6:05When you feel comfortable, begin to scan the entire body to build up a picture of what the body feels like.
6:19Piece by piece, release any areas of tension.
6:29Let go of your stress.
6:32Let go of your anxiety.
6:38You are exactly where you're meant to be.
6:51Allow that natural rhythm of the breath to relax you.
7:08Let your breath guide you to a place of safety in the presence of God.
7:38You are accepted here.
7:41You are loved.
7:56Take this verse with you, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the body, maybe even move your fingers and toes
8:32a little bit.
8:33When it feels natural, allow your eyes to slowly open.
8:41Take another big deep breath in, and let it out with a sigh.
8:47Notice how you feel.
8:50I hope you feel a little more relaxed.
8:53We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
