0:01It's really common for us to spend a lot of our time focusing on the past or the future.

0:09Our present seems to be mostly occupied with getting somewhere or getting back to where we were.

0:19But we forget that the present is the only time that is real.

0:25Our life can only happen in the here and now.

0:30Peace of mind can only be found in the present.

0:35God's love can only be experienced in this moment.

0:44Okay.

0:45Let's get started by allowing the body to relax.

0:51And when you're ready, let your eyes close like the sun sets.

1:03Take a moment to consider this verse: "I sought the Lord, and He answered me.

1:12He delivered me from my fears." And again, "I sought the Lord, and He answered me.

1:30He delivered me from my fears." Now, bring your attention to the way the body feels.

1:58Just noticing any areas of tightness in the body.

2:13If it feels comfortable, take a few nice, deep breaths.

2:24Allow your breath to loosen any areas of tightness in the body.

2:43With each breath, allow a sense of calm to wash over your body.

2:56Allow your body to totally release and let go.

3:13Now, bring your attention to the top of the head.

3:22Begin to soften the forehead, down the front of the face.

3:34Relax the corners of the eyes.

3:42Allow the neck to relax and the shoulders to fall away from the ears.

3:53Relax the temples.

3:58The legs are becoming heavy.

4:08Feel the weight of the body.

4:17Let your whole body soften and release.

4:32Allow your mind to rest with the presence of God.

4:51Now, bring your awareness to the feeling of the body.

5:04Maybe there's some muscle tightness or stress lingering in the body.

5:15Slowly bring your attention to those areas of tightness and relax them, piece by piece.

5:39As your body begins to relax, allow your mind to let go.

6:10Give yourself permission to start fresh.

6:20What is done is done.

6:24All you have is this moment.

6:44This is a safe place.

6:48Release your thoughts to God.

7:04When it feels comfortable, take a few nice, deep breaths.

7:18Inhale.

7:20Feel the chest rise.

7:24And exhale.

7:27Feel the chest fall.

7:38There's no way to do this wrong.

7:50If the thoughts take you away, that's okay.

7:56When it feels comfortable, bring your awareness back to the feeling of the breath.

8:18Take this verse with you.

8:22"I sought the Lord, and He answered me.

8:27He delivered me from my fears." When you feel ready, slowly bring your awareness back to the breath and allow your eyes to open.

8:54Take a few deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.

9:04Notice how you feel.

9:09I hope you feel a little more relaxed.

9:13We'll see you again tomorrow, with hope, mindfulness, and prayer.
